The 'National Anthem - 1st verse' commemorative strike in the sensational new polymer technique... more
'National Anthem' Commemorative Strike with polymer ring

The 'National Anthem - 1st verse' commemorative strike in the sensational new polymer technique is an absolute novelty and exclusively available from Windsor Mint. Minted in highest quality 'proof', fully layered with purest 24 carat gold and finished with a translucent polymer ring, this world-first strike is abeautiful commemoration of our proud national anthem.

On 13 September 2016, a new era of banknotes began with the issue of a new £5 polymer banknote featuring the portraits of Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II. The new polymer technique has since replaced our old £10banknotes and soon all paper banknotes will be issued in the new polymer. The new technique makes our paper money more durable and secure.

Now, the first commemorative strike has been issued, also featuring a ring of polymer - a very difficult minting process, where the polymer ring is set between element of metal. The sensational new strike honours our proud British National Anthem and features the young Queen Elizabeth II and the British Union Jack.
