Item desciption
On September 4th, 2016, the most famous nun of the world and Nobel Peace Prize winner will be canonised by Pope Francis.

She was known across the world as the 'Angel of the Poor'. Born in Macedonia in 1910, she joined the Loreto convent in Dublin when she was 18. Shortly thereafter, the order sent her to India, where she worked for 20 years as a teacher in a missionary school. In 1946, while travelling by train, she believed she had received the 'call of God', compelling her to go to the Calcutta slums to help the poorest of the poor. She was granted permission by the Vatican to set aside her habit and replace it with the dress of the poor – a simple white sari with a blue border. In 1979, she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her life's work. She died in 1997 and in 2003 she was beatified by the Pope and given the title 'Blessed Teresa of Calcutta'. Just six years after her death in 1997, Pope John Paul II beatified Mother Teresa in one of the shortest processes in the history of the Catholic Church. John Paul called her 'a gift to the Church and to the world'.

Secure now your truly unique and special strike, layered with 24-carat gold to commemorate her canonisation.
