His arduous career began in 1946 when he was elected to the state House of Representatives. He married Jacqueline Lee Bouvier in 1953 when he was senator of Massachusetts. This Democrat won the Presidential election against Nixon at the age of 44. John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas in 1963.
