'Horatio Nelson - Battle of Trafalgar' Commemorative Strike
He is one of the greatest heroes in the British Royal Navy: Admiral Horatio Nelson.
During the war against Napoleonic France he and his ship, the HMS Victory, gained everlasting glory. During the legendary sea battle at the Spanish Cape Trafalgar on 21 October, 1805 Nelson led the British fleet with his flagship HMS Victory against the French opponents and their Spanish allies. The battle ended with a victory of the British and a devastating defeat of the French-Spanish fleet. Admiral Nelson paid a high price: Shortly after the beginning of the battle he was hit by a bullet.The hero of Trafalgar lived to see the victory, but died short after. Due to Nelson's successful mission Napoleons plans to conquer India were destroyed.
