'£50 Banknote - F' Commemorative Strike

Numismatic history was made on 2nd November 2011 when the Bank of England released the new £50 note - for the first time ever a Bank of England note features two portraits on its reverse. Chosen toadorn the new note are the two pioneers of the industrial revolution: entrepreneur Matthew Boulton and engineer James Watts, who, in the 18th Century, developed the steam engine and, in so doing, accelerated the English industrial revolution.

Now this latest £50 note, probably the last ever printed on paper, has been immortalised forever and reproduced in precise colour detail on a 24 carat gold-plated one-of-a-kind commemorative strike.
