The elegance and agility of this fighter aircraft was unrivalled when it was deployed during the Second World War. Manufactured by the Vickers subsidiary, Supermarine, it was used by the Royal Air Force and the Allies on all fronts. More than 20,300 "Spits" in a number of variants soared through the skies. This single-seater was powered by a 1650 HP Rolls-Royce Merlin 63 engine and was equipped with four machine guns and two Hispano 20 mm cannons, reaching a top speed of well over 600 km/h.
